The opening of the exhibition "UNArte at 150 Years. Painting, Graphic Arts, Sculpture"

On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, the National University of Arts, Bucharest, in partnership with the National Museum of Contemporary Art, opened on Wednesday, June the 4th, 2014, at 18.00, at Sala Dalles in Bucharest, the exhibition "UNArte at 150 Years. Painting, Graphic Arts, Sculpture".
The event was attended by a large audience, and by professors and students of the university. At the exhibition opening speeches were held by Professor Catalin Balescu Ph.D., President of the National University of Arts in Bucharest and by Professor Cristian Robert Velescu Ph.D., President of the Senate of the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
The exhibition is intended as an educational insight into the creative process held currently in the Fine Arts Faculty of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, by bringing together the work of both students from the BA, MA and doctorate levels and of the Professors from the Painting, Graphic Arts, Sculpture and Art Pedagogy departments of the Faculty. The Faculty Dean, Mr. associate professor Cesar Atodiresei Ph.D. who is also the curator of the exhibition, consider the event as "an witness to the process of study, research and expression in the visual arts in terms of a better articulation of tradition together with contemporary artistic vision". At the opening was released an extensive catalogue of the exhibition.
The event is part of a series of events marking throughout the year, 150 Years since the establishment of the National University of Arts in Bucharest.
